Delicious! I used this on craven, just tin't expect to endeavour it on beef. I used olive oil instead of veg. oil and depression sodium soy sauce. I also opted for minced garlic from the jar vs. garlic powder. I pounded the chicken down to tenderize and to sparse them out a bit before marinating them all 24-hour interval. They soaked up most of the marinade. I think using honey really made the light-green onions stick improve and I had no trouble with anything burning on the grill. If you lot like this marinade, y'all'll love Unbelievable Chicken from this site. UPDATE: I marinated sirloin steak with this marinade for six hours with the same modifications and it came out neat. This does work on beef or craven!

Wow....this is some fantastic stuff!!! MY husband, the "cook," was ready to call people and brag on me for creating this wonderful craven. I used about 8 tenders, and I had to accommodate the recipe slightly. I used cider vinegar instead of white, 1 one/2 tbs. of minced onion instead of green onion, 3 tbs. of brownish sugar instead of the dear, and I didn't use the ginger. Also, I just marinated for about 2 hrs. Let me tell you....this was sooooo yummy! I broiled in the oven and flipped them every few minutes at commencement, and then as they started to really caramelize I flipped every 1 1/2 minutes....about 9 minutes total. Moist and flavorful!!! Not at all salty...but, I suspect if you marinated for a long time...maybe that'south when the soy would become overpowering. We can't say enough almost this marinade....adjacent is chicken legs!
04/14/2003
Very proficient. I used this on boneless skinless craven breasts, which I halved. I grilled them on foil for a few minutes to let the craven to cook without burning the exterior (other reviewers mentioned the marinade burned easily). Then I put them directly on the grill until they were done. They turned out perfectly.
01/24/2004
I made the marinade for beef with the intention of grilling it but at dinner time we felt like a stir fry....I stir fried the beef in a bit of oil, fix information technology aside and stir fried some veggies, added a chip of the marinade (bring to a eddy beginning to kill the germy things that may exist in there) and served over rice. It may be the all-time stir fry nosotros've ever had. Bye farewell store boughy stir fry sauce!

This recipe is easy to gear up. I too like the fact that the ingredients are readily bachelor. When I looked at the set of ingredients, though, I thought that it can even so be improved. Instead of using vegetable oil, I used olive oil because information technology has better aroma and it leaves a hint of flavor in ur dishes (rather than vegetable oil which can be banal for some people). Likewise, I also increased the amount of dear in the recipe (or sugar). I besides used regular onions instead of greenish onions because the season or the onion bulb is stronger. Feel free to add together dried herbs and spices to gustatory modality. Squeeze in lemon juice. Marinade it for 3 days before grilling, or broiling, or baking.
06/22/2008
Very Moist! I halved this recipe, used chicken tenders and used agave nectar in place of dear. Only marinated for 1 hr and withal had adept flavor. This was a overnice, quick and used ingredients I had on mitt. Will utilise this over again.
03/26/2003
Nifty! Followed recipe to a tee...marinated both t-bone steaks and boneless chix breasts to grill out over the weekend. Beef could've marinated longer, only the chicken was wonderful and flavorful. Will use regularly, take ingredients on mitt always.
05/05/2003
I used this on pork chops. It was and so skilful. The marinade is slightly sugariness and really has a good flavor. I didn't have whatever green onions, then I used just sliced regular onions.
05/31/2004
Used this for tiffin today. Worked out wonderfully. I agree with some other reviewers that the soy sauce was a bit strong. I will employ again with some tinkering. Thanks for the mail.
05/27/2004
Corking recipe that was enjoyed by all. I used all the ingredients simply without measuring.
09/03/2003
This is bangin' difficult. I did not use ginger or the onion in mine, nor practise I ever mensurate ANY ingredients with proper "instruments". Always my eyeballs and eye. Marin'd 6 chicken breasts for 18 hours with this shizzy and allow me tell you lot information technology was off the hook! This is Bomb.

Hokay, and then usually I am terrible at making chicken -- baking, grilling, stovetop, you name it and I've botched it. The chicken always turned out dry and flavorless...that is, until I tried this recipe. I followed pretty much every single step to a "t", except the part most oil -- I've been trying to melt/consume healthier (otherwise I would've hauled my lazy bum over to the schoolhouse cafeteria), and cut downward the oil to one/2 cup. In a spurt of wannabe cooking inventiveness, I used ane/4 loving cup olive oil and 1/4 loving cup *Dark SESAME OIL*. After marinating my 2 lbs of chicken overnight and panicking considering I thought I overused the sesame oil and information technology was gonna set my oven on fire (thankfully, smoke betoken of sesame oil is decently high, despite it non intended for baking), the chicken turned out AMAZING. Now I take enough chicken for vii more meals, though I'll probably regain my frosh 15 thanks to this recipe. FYI -- I had enough marinade to use on 3 lbs of skinless chicken breasts.
05/30/2010
Good marinade that you lot can make with items you lot already take in your cabinet. I used apple tree cider vinegar instead of white and added some apple juice. This sweetened it a bit more than. This was good. We used it on pork cultets and pork steaks.
07/11/2010
7/11/2010: I used this marinade on venison kebobs and my husband said if I was rating this to requite information technology 5 stars. At present if he says it'due south a 5 star that means information technology's real good! He told me twice while eating how much he likes this marinade. I tin can't wait to endeavor it on steaks and chicken now! Definitely a keeper. 8/24/2010: Update - Since my last review I have tried this on chicken breasts and ribeyes and they were absolutely delicious. This is perfect for any cut of meat. I am thinking of trying it on pork now! This is now my go-to marinade recipe!
10/10/2002
Haven't tried information technology for beef withal, but it's the best marinade I have ever plant for craven! Takes a bit more prep time than opening a packet or bottle, but it is well worth information technology! Left overs are great for wraps or fajitas also.
12/03/2008
This marinade is delicious with chicken. It passed the taste test with the toughest critic in my house, my 3 year-old! It helps to utilise a meat hammer to tenderize the craven breasts a scrap before dropping them into the marinade. They'll soak upwards more marinade that fashion since you lot've given the tenderization a kick start. I likewise institute that cutting the breasts upwards subsequently using the meat hammer into small chunks works well in a stir fry.
04/27/2003
excellent flavor...but I used fresh minced garlic instead of the powdered...information technology was the perfect flavor blend!
01/22/2008
I didn't have soy sauce then I used a affect of teriyaki sauce. I only had time to marinade for 3 hours -- information technology was smashing, just would take been even amend if I marinaded information technology over night! Served with veggies on the side and slaw.
06/eleven/2008
I made this marinade exactly as submitted except I minced vadalia onion and used information technology on sirloin tips leap for the grill. The marinade was succulent with a slight seize with teeth thanks to the pepper and perfect corporeality of sweetness thanks to the honey. I remember I'll try adding some paprika adjacent time to add together just a bear upon of that smoke gustation.
04/27/2004
Very, very good...didn't change a thing...marinaded chicken for 4 hours...very 1 loved it...a keeper!
ten/08/2012
Excellent on chicken!
08/xxx/2009

10/03/2011
This marinade definitely adds boot to your meat! I added in some chopped garlic and yellow onion. I would propose trying out this marinade!
04/12/2006
Wonderful marinade! I used it for steak. Didn't have any green onions, so I used about one.v tsp of onion pulverization. I marinated for about five hours, so rinsed off the meat before broiling. (I've been burned with overpowering marinades before.) It was great - slightly sweetness and tangy, not too soyish for me. I wanted to lick the plate when I was finished! Definitely a keeper.
04/xx/2011
And so good! Final night I took two steaks and let them marinade over nighttime. This forenoon I put the steaks and marinade in the crock pot on low for 5 hours! OHHH!! Information technology was fantastic! My hubby and I agree that this will exist fabricated once again!
01/10/2011
This is a actually great marinade. I used white wine vinegar and garlic instead of garlic pulverisation but got rave reviews.
05/16/2001
Delicious! I accidentally marinated the craven for ii days but information technology was wonderful. The craven was and so flavorful. I volition definitely utilise this recipe again.
07/28/2010
This is a wonderful marinade! My only change was I added a teaspoon of sugar!
09/08/2003
I tried this marinade on chicken kabobs (chicken breast, peppers, onions, mushrooms on bamboo skewers.) I marinated the kabobs about viii hours which was just long enough. I added some vegetable oil to the recipe then the kabobs wouldn't stick to the grill. The kabobs turned out merely delicious!
eleven/14/2008
Wonderful on craven!
07/04/2011
Made a triple batch of this for pork loin and grilled/smoked information technology on the grill. Used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, used garlic salt instead of garlic powder (but used merely 1/tertiary the amount). My company and married woman couldn't terminate raving nigh the flavor.
07/31/2006
I idea this was excellent. I marinated both turkey and beef (a adequately cheap cut) in information technology for about 6 hours. And then nosotros put them on skewers and grilled them on the BBQ. Our guests raved almost them. I had leftover raw meat that I left in the marinade overnight and so cooked that meat in a skillet. The meat was very tender and the flavor was still actually good if not better than the nighttime earlier.
12/24/2010
I can't believe I did non rate this delicious recipe and I've already made it about 5 times. I don't fifty-fifty mensurate I just add in more of the ingredients that I like the most which are a lot more cut up scallions, more honey, garlic powder, ginger & blackness pepper and information technology tastes even better!
06/10/2003
I know information technology says 'beef or chicken' just I used this marinade on port chops and it was great. I didn't accept any ginger just information technology was excellent anyway. My daughter said information technology was the starting time time she ever felt the need to eat a 2d pork chop!
09/06/2011
I admittedly dear this marinade! I made a few pocket-size changes... I used balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, olive oil, and withheld the ginger (I didn't take any). The whole family liked the chicken I prepared and that almost never happens!
06/10/2001
This is a great recipe; information technology's very flavorful and actually easy. I used this on chicken. I didn't apply green onions, merely rather 1/2 tsp. onion powder. I boiled the remaining marinade and nosotros ate information technology over our rice. It was great!
03/08/2011
I used fresh garlic and ginger - wow! Rich, still delicate flavor.
08/26/2012
VERY skilful marinade
05/xxx/2003
I used this for barbecued chicken breasts (boneless, skinless). I used 1 tsp each of minced ginger & garlic instead of the powders. The chicken turned out very savory and moist, and my guests ate it up. I'll definitely apply this in the future.
07/10/2012
loved it. I used it with boneless skinless chicken breasts marinated for four hours .Grilled to perfection. Such wonderful caramelization and season.
04/29/2011
This was not bad, have used it several times with steak.
11/11/2014
I used this marinade with chicken for a stir fry. Succulent! I fabricated the full recipe but only needed half for the iii chicken breasts I used and then put the other half in the fridge to use on the next matter I want to marinade! Cheers for the recipe!
09/01/2014
I tasted it before marinating and I thought it was pretty oily and apartment tasting... tried to 'amp' it up with some red pepper flakes and table salt. Marinated flank steak for near 6 hours, couldn't actually taste any of the marinade on the steak and it paled in comparing to the pepper/common salt rub we did on the other flank steak. Nobody commented on the flavor or asked for the recipe. Keep looking...
08/16/2008
Tried this marinade on both beef and chicken for kabobs. My beginning fourth dimension making kabobs on the grill. They turned out slap-up. The marinade was wonderful and I will be using it again.....and again......and once more. It'southward a keeper. Thanks Allrecipes.
07/13/2011
I made this marinade to employ on some craven. I didn't have enough soy sauce, so I used half soy and half teriyaki. Only this was the only change I made. I thought this was absolutely delicious. The pickiest eater in my family was the get-go to speak up and say 'This chicken is really nice, when are nosotros having information technology over again?' To me, that is the highest praise ever and then, needless to say, this is at present going to be 1 of my about used recipes!
09/27/2014
Fantabulous on beef, trying information technology today on beef and shrimp
05/26/2010
Very skillful! Subbed fresh garlic for the powder. Subbed olive oil for the vegetable oil and used just a couple of grinds of pepper. Marinated 10 hours.... Nosotros really enjoyed this chicken. Thanks for the recipe!
08/16/2011
Easy marinade to throw together! Didn't accept the white vinegar and then I used reddish wine ving. I also didn't take a skilful four hours to await so I pounded boneless skinless breasts thin - think cutlets - and let marinade for about an hour 1/2. grilled on each side virtually 5-7 minutes and YUM! Even my hubby decided information technology was tasty. He's so ill of chicken he never has annihilation good to say near information technology! LOoking forward to trying information technology on beef and pork :) Thanks!
11/13/2011
This is SERIOUSLY the Best marinade Ever! We usually don't accept green onions on hand so nosotros skip them, and we reduce the amount of honey or don't utilise it at all and it's always just the best. I autumn back on this when we have concluding infinitesimal guests and they always LOVE it.
06/25/2009
very good. i added extra garlic powder the second time i fabricated this. this is a keeper!
05/01/2011
My picky eater married man took one bite and proclaimed, "This is skillful!" Plenty said!
x/18/2010
Wonderful recipe! I've fabricated this a half a dozen times over the summertime. I apply it on chicken breasts cut into strips, let it marinade, put the chicken strips on skewers, then grill them. Serve with a side of steamed rice, and it makes a wonderful meal. Fifty-fifty my teenager, who hates marinades and sauces, loves this.
10/31/2011
It is i of the all-time marinades that I have ever fabricated and it works well when information technology is BBQ. It was a real crouded pleaser.
02/08/2008
I tried injecting an 18 lb turkey with this marinade. Approximate what? I didn't like the meat wherever I injected it. It was way also strong! So those parts will definitely go into soup. Probably won't attempt this baby again.
08/28/2013
I made the marinade slightly differently than in a higher place and information technology turned out Amazing! I left out the ginger (I just don't intendance for information technology), substituted brown saccharide for the dearest, substituted minced onion for the chopped onion, substituted apple cider vinegar instead of white distilled, and substituted olive oil for vegetable oil (very minor changes all-in-all). I cut up chicken breast tenderloins into half-inch cubes and marinated for seven hours. So I put them in a baking dish and baked them at 350 for 20 minutes. They were perfect! This marinade is an absolute keeper. My swain raved near how delicious the chicken was! There were absolutely no leftovers. :)
10/11/2002
I used this recipe for chicken and it was really good. I cut the ginger in half since I am not a big fan of it, and information technology was swell.
07/23/2014
This is an splendid marinade that I've used several times now, information technology's our new favorite. No changes necessary - it's perfect as is!
ten/22/2010
I fabricated this for my young man and I tonight. Not the best...We just didn't like information technology. I think information technology was more than out of preference. Both of the states were expecting it to be a fiddling bit more flavorful. I followed the recipe exactly. And unfortunately, it just didn't have the flavor we desired.
01/31/2013
I am eating less chicken and meat simply I did take a small sense of taste then that I tin give an honest review. Information technology makes a great marinade for chicken just a little too sweet, adjacent time I'll use less honey. My family loves it.
06/11/2014
Wow! This marinade was swell! I loved the gustation and my family liked information technology then much they immediately asked when nosotros could swallow it once again! I highly recommend this marinade as it gives chicken a somewhat tangy and delectable flavor!
06/19/2011
We used this on craven this night -really enjoyed it. Didn't utilise ginger, used olive oil instead of vegetable, will definitely brand this over again.
08/03/2008
Wow this is skillful stuff!! I followed virtually of the directions, except I put in Rice Vinegar. I besides didn't add together the ginger. I did marinate the craven breast for 3 hours, which really got the great gustation soaked in. I want to effort this on the steaks too! Thanks again!
06/xvi/2014
Marinated chicken thighs for 2 days, and then grilled the thighs. Anybody RAVED virtually the marinade. Next fourth dimension, I think I'd utilise fresh garlic instead of the pulverization (because I similar a stronger garlic taste), but this is a bang-up marinade as-is.
08/05/2012
Nosotros used this with steak and were not very fond of it - No flavor at all. I am not even going to try this with chicken since I already accept a favorite. Marinated for 4 hours - grilled and steak was perfectly grilled - we merely needed some season and had some a1 sauce with it. sorry but this one volition go out of my cookbook....................
05/19/2011
Used this on pork. Used olive oil in place of vegetable oil, only other than that, didn't change a thing. Next fourth dimension I will marinate longer...I wanted the meat to have more than of that season.
06/07/2011
Absolutely super great to awsome. I plant this recipe today and just happened to have some chicken thighs and legs. Only extra thing I did was sprinle in a little lemon-pepper. Just Fantastic.
08/07/2014
tried this recipe and was just Neat
04/11/2004
I enjoyed the season of this, but information technology actually flared upwardly when I put information technology on the grill. When I make it again, I will let the meat drain a bit so it doesn't baste.
04/06/2008
We love this for a chicken marinade. Haven't tried information technology on beef all the same, but await forward to this summer!
10/22/2011
I used red wine vinegar, worchershire sauce, brown sugar, and chopped garlic. I liked those flavors a lot and although I did non follow your recipe to a T I volition next time in acception to the soy sauce because my fellow doesnt like soy at all. Thanks for giving such a great base to spark other ideas!!!!
08/thirteen/2010
This was very tasty on chicken.
05/08/2012
Very good. Permit marinate as long every bit possible.
05/26/2003
This was succulent! We marinated pork chops for the afternoon and grilled them, and they turned out perfectly. Flavour all the way through and very tender. Will definitely be using this one lots this summer
05/07/2008
Love information technology! I accept searched for a tasty marinade that is non as well soy-flavored and non too sweetness--this fits the pecker. I had to substitute dehydrated onion for the light-green onion and apple tree cider vinegar for the white vinegar. Information technology was fantastic--a definite keeper! And the chicken seemed so moist and tender.
02/23/2012
Crawly on chicken - little sweet/Hawiian tho Worked well on 1000. Foreman and real grill.
05/24/2014
I made 1/three of this recipe for two large os-in chicken breast halves, which looked to be an adequate amount. I used fresh minced garlic instead of powder and omitted the ginger, as I'k non a fan. I zapped this with my emersion blender to emulsify information technology and smooth information technology out, and I marinated the chicken for nearly 7 hours. I had high hopes for this and it did smell wonderful while grilling, simply Hubs and I were both disappointed. There just wasn't much flavor going on with this 1.
10/03/2008
good marinade to apply for ginger beef stirfry
12/17/2006
I've used this on craven and beef. It's always a big hit - I've gotten requests for the recipe more once.
04/15/2009
I use this recipe all the time! Honey it!
04/19/2010
I cutting this recipe in one-half - in that location are only two of us here. I did, though, make it as written except for the commutation of a tbls of dehydrated sweet onion for the dark-green onion. The filets are marinating and I don't know quite still how this recipe will turn out - I can say, though, the marinade was delicious! I'g quite optimistic! Not besides salty, not too sweet. Quite tasty! I'm sure I'll give it five stars when the steaks are done.
12/09/2009
YUMMY!! I followed the directions exactly and composite information technology with my stick blender. That gave it a nice thick consistency and it stuck to the meat well during marinating. I used it on flapp meat and it was delicious. I will definitely brand this once more and again - looking frontward to trying information technology on chicken. Cheers for this keeper!!!
07/06/2008
My entire family enjoyed this marinade. We used information technology on boneless craven breasts and they came out very flavorful. My changes: I used rice wine vinegar instead of regular vinegar (more of an asian taste) and I forgot the footing black pepper. Adjacent time I retrieve I'd let the meat marinade longer than iv hours just considering I'd like the taste to permiate the meat more!
07/01/2009
Male child oh boy YUMMY!!!! I used blueberry dearest and balsamic vinegar and added a splash of blueberry watermelon juice... WHAT A WONDERFUL Sense of taste will definately be making again. Thanks for sharing I also used Sesame oil instead of vegetable oil
10/27/2009
Used dried orange peel instead of the ginger. Proficient, not great recipe.
06/08/2007
Mmm-mmm! I loved this recipe. Information technology may very well be my new favorite for grilled chicken. I used minced garlic instead of garlic powder and onion powder instead of onions. I used one/2 reduced sodium soy and 1/2 regular soy and marinaded skinless, boneless craven breasts for about 36 hours and then cooked them on the grill, basting with some marinade I had set aside. They were and so tasty I had nothing merely craven for dinner! LOL My boys ages iv and 5 and DH loved it too. Can't wait to try it with beef. Thanks!
07/31/2007
This was very good, and the flavors are not overpowering. As others did, I used cider vinegar instead of white, 1 1/2T minced onion instead of light-green onions, and 3T brown sugar instead of honey, fresh garlic, no ginger, and olive oil. I marinated it for 45 min, and it was succulent. Maybe could marinate information technology for longer and still be good. This was bang-up for craven, but didn't have too much success with beef. I guess I just didn't like the season with beef as well. Nifty marinade!
07/02/2010
I honey this recipe! I sent information technology to my son who is a big time griller and he uses it all the time!
04/26/2010
I used this on flank steaks and allow information technology marinate for 48 hrs and information technology was astonishing on the BBQ! I besides used low sodium soy sauce since soy sauce is so salty.
04/16/2012
This marinade was very yummy! I used regular onion instead of green. I marinaded steaks and so broiled them. It was very good.
11/30/2010
A very flavorful and piece of cake marinade! I did non have honey for a sweetener and so I used agave nectar. Next time I'll try brown saccharide. Marinaded steaks and grilled. My family loved it! Thanks so much!
08/13/2014
Considering I but had nearly 2 hours to marinate this is had great flavor! Since I swallow Paleo I subbed out the soy sauce for kokosnoot aminos and switched vegetable oil with olive oil. Tin can't wait to try this when I accept time to marinade over dark!
06/23/2014
Fabulous marinade! I marinated BLSL chicken thighs for Grilled Craven Caesar Pitas, and they were delicious. I tin can't look to try it with beef!
12/29/2007

05/xv/2009
My husband liked it, I only thought it was okay. I much adopt Best Steak Marinade in Beingness on this site, however I'll go along this one for hubby.
02/05/2008
Wonderful flavor. Have merely tried on steak, but would eagerly effort on chicken. Smashing, cracking, not bad!
04/03/2007
This marinade was delicious! I always have all of these ingredients at home, so information technology's very convenient. I marinated well-nigh three hours then grilled the chicken. We used them in fajitas, which was almost a shame since you lot couldn't taste the chicken likewise with all the other ingredients. This ane is a keeper!
12/twenty/2009
This marinade was fantastic and loved past anybody. I used regular sweet onions and marinated craven breasts in a big plastic pocketbook inserted into a bowl to get better coverage and easier to rotate them. I also baked them in the oven instead of grilling them. Side by side time I will not turn them so quickly because the marinade slid off a bit which required me to baste them in order to keep this delicious marinade covering the breasts. This is a must keep recipe! Without knowing the name of this marinade, my male parent excitedly said, "This would be great used with meatloaf!" Meatloaf is i of his favorite meals, and so this was the ultimate compliment coming from him. Cheers soooo very much for this mail service. By the manner, my youngest daughter who thinks onions are gross, absolutely couldn't stay away from the abundant onion filled marinade covering the chicken. Don't be afraid of overdoing the onions!
